Introduction and Privacy Guarantee

At AriSoftware, we believe your spiritual practice and personal habits should remain completely private. Salah+ is built with privacy-by-design principles: we do not operate private servers, we do not require account registration, and we do not collect, sell, or rent any personally identifiable information (PII).

All core calculations (prayer times, Qibla compass bearings, and Tasbih counters) are computed 100% locally on your device.

To keep Salah+ free and support ongoing maintenance, the app displays advertisements powered by Google AdMob. This Privacy Policy explains what device permissions we require, how on-device data is handled, and how third-party advertising partners process technical data.

1. Information Handled Directly by Salah+ (Processed 100% Locally)

Salah+ requests access to specific device capabilities solely to provide essential features. None of this data is ever transmitted to, or stored on, external servers by AriSoftware:

- Location Data (ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION, ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION):

Required to calculate accurate prayer times (Fajr, Dhuhr, Asr, Maghrib, Isha) and determine the exact Qibla direction relative to your position. GPS and network coordinates are processed instantly and strictly in real-time in your device memory. AriSoftware does not track, log, or transmit your location history.

- Device Sensors (Magnetometer and Accelerometer):

Used to power the live, interactive Qibla compass needle. Sensor readings are read in real-time on-device only when the Qibla screen is active.

- Notifications and Exact Alarms (SCHEDULE_EXACT_ALARM, POST_NOTIFICATIONS, USE_EXACT_ALARM):

Used to trigger Azan audio and visual prayer time alerts at the precise minute of prayer. Alarms are registered locally with Android's AlarmManager.

- Custom Audio and Storage:

If you select custom ringtones or downloaded audio files for Azan reminders, the app accesses those files locally via the Android system file picker.

- Local Preferences and App State:

Stores your chosen calculation methods (such as Muslim World League, ISNA, Umm al-Qura), juristic madhab (Hanafi/Shafi'i), theme mode, language preferences, and Tasbih counter values. These are saved strictly on your device using Android SharedPreferences.

2. Third-Party Advertising (Google AdMob)

Salah+ integrates the Google Mobile Ads SDK (AdMob) to display banner, interstitial, and/or rewarded advertisements.

While AriSoftware does not collect personal information from you, the Google Mobile Ads SDK may automatically receive, collect, and process certain device and technical information to serve ads, enforce frequency capping, prevent ad fraud, and provide reporting.

Types of Data Processed by Google:

- Unique Device and Advertising Identifiers: Google Advertising ID (GAID / AAID), Android ID, or vendor identifiers.

- Network and Device Information: IP address (which may be used to infer general coarse location such as country or city), device model, manufacturer, operating system version, carrier, and screen dimensions.

- Diagnostic and Performance Data: Ad interaction events (views, clicks), SDK crash logs, and load performance metrics.

Personalized vs. Non-Personalized Ads and Consent:

- Depending on your jurisdiction (such as the European Economic Area / UK under GDPR, or California under CCPA/CPRA), you may be presented with a Consent Management Form (Google User Messaging Platform) upon launching the app.

- Personalized Ads: With your consent, Google may use device identifiers and your past app usage across other apps to serve ads tailored to your interests.

- Non-Personalized Ads: If you opt out or decline consent, ads are not targeted based on past behavior, but may still use contextual information (such as general geographic area) and device identifiers strictly for fraud prevention, diagnostic metrics, and frequency capping.

Managing Your Ad Preferences:

You can manage or opt out of personalized ad tracking directly from your Android device settings at any time:

- Go to Settings > Privacy > Ads (or Google > Ads).

- Tap Delete advertising ID or toggle Reset advertising ID / Opt out of Ads Personalization.

3. Analytics, Tracking, and User Accounts

Except for the diagnostics collected directly by the Google Mobile Ads SDK as described above:

- No Account Creation: Salah+ does not have user accounts, profiles, or login mechanisms.

- No First-Party Tracking: We do not employ third-party user tracking, marketing telemetry, or user analytics SDKs (such as Firebase Analytics, Mixpanel, or AppsFlyer).

4. Children's Privacy

Salah+ is designed as a general-audience Islamic utility application. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13 (or under the applicable age in your jurisdiction) in compliance with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and Google Play's Families Policy requirements.

Ad requests served in the app can be configured to comply with child-directed treatment tags (tagForChildDirectedTreatment) where appropriate. If you are a parent or guardian and believe that personal information has inadvertently been submitted, please contact us so we can take immediate corrective measures.

5. Data Security

Because all personal settings, location lookups, and prayer calculations are executed locally within your device's sandboxed environment, your personal data is protected by your device's built-in Android OS security protocols. Any network traffic generated by third-party advertising SDKs uses industry-standard TLS/HTTPS encryption.

6. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, new app features, or legal and regulatory requirements. When changes are published, we will revise the Last Updated date at the top of this document. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
